We have been looking

We have been looking for rellay simple blinds for a while kind of like the reed ones you get at IKEA. They are intended for our office space which gets full sunshine during the day making it impossible to read off your screen and heats up if there is no dimming. We wanted an affordable price, easy installation and didnt want it super dark during the day. The reed versions we got previously were just too transparent' when it was dark and the lights on.These are a perfect in between, not too dark during the day when you still want some sunshine peeping through, but also private enough you don't feel like everyone can read the text off your tee shirt at night. The only downsides I would say (which I kinda expected): 1. When installed the metal pulleys are showing toward the room which is not so pretty; 2. The ropes are a little longer than I think are needed but there are little hooks delivered with them that you can screw in next to the blinds that allow for quick roll up so they don't get tangled; 3. The screws they give you for affixing the blinds themselves are little cumbersome but regular half inch screws I had lying around made it work; 4. I would not recommend them for a bedroom window outlines are still visible. For an office or guest suite they should be ok.All in all though a resounding five stars for that little ounce more privacy, unbeatable value for money, easy installation, and pretty coloring. For this price, they are a steal I went ahead after purchasing two 24 and bought another matching 36 to go with. The supplier delivered them all, no shipping costs, almost next day (even though it was standard delivery) great product and great service from the supplier. by Olga posted on Friday, October 09, 2015

Pennsylvania cherry

Pennsylvania cherry is one of the world's fniset woods for cabinetry and furniture. When exposed to uv light it will age and become much darker than it is freshly sawn. The Philly Museum of Art has some old cherry furniture if you want to get a taste of what it will look like. by Elmas posted on Friday, October 09, 2015

For cleaning the Bru

For cleaning the Bruce Hardwood/Laminate clneaer is great. If you use something else, just don't use anything with soap in it. No Murphy's , Lysol, Pinesol, or anything like that. Soapy clneaers can leave a film that is almost impossible to remove.Engineered wood can be sanded and refinished about 1 time over its life and there are click versions that install as a floating floor (like laminate) which make them a great DIY project. You get the hardwood for less money and work.As far as the scratches go the shinier the finish the more scratches will show so opt for a more matte finish if it is a concern. And Barb N, you are right on that the pre-finished will hold up longer because the finish on them is stronger than any polyurethane you can buy and put on yourself. by Iskandar posted on Friday, October 09, 2015

This was a great art

This was a great article! Thanks so much for the iiaormftnon. I just wanted to note that we did an experiment with a piece of laminate because I was worried about water damage. We're planning on replacing the floor in our kitchen & bathroom so it was a concern. We took one of the samples that we brought home and soaked it under water in the sink for about 4-5 hours. There was no effect on the laminate. No swelling or separating or anything. I was surprised. I don't know what brand it is, just the color. I'd have to go back to the store to find out what brand it is. But I feel it was a good test to do. by Tachibana posted on Friday, October 09, 2015

We replaced our flor

We replaced our floros several yrs ago and I went with real hardwood, prefinished. I like the idea of being able to sand it down and refinish if ever needed to. It is a little more expensive but in long run you will save money because it can be refinished a lot cheaper than replacing entire floor. My floor has also lasted and is more durable than I expected. We had a large dog for several yrs and I was worried about scratches. I think the pre finish has helped it hold up better. For cleaning I always use the manufacture recommended Bruce hardwood floor cleaner. by Martin posted on Friday, October 09, 2015

Cass, I'm in the sam

Cass, I'm in the same boat as you in all aspects, excpet ours is engineered. It came with the house, and is a cherry tone with a shiny finish. Not only is the color unappealing, it shows everything, including the divots that definitely have no positive impact on character. At some point we will rip them out. I'm looking at all options, including bamboo and cork. I am still interested in. The engineered wood as a happy medium between hardwood and laminate, but it would definitely need more texture and a better stain to capture my dollar. by Yeyis posted on Friday, October 09, 2015

We have laminate foo

We have laminate foorls in our house, they were there when my husband and I moved in. I've had trouble finding a cleaner that does a good job and doesn't leave a spotty, filmy finish. Sweaty feet leave foot prints and smears, and laminate DOES show scratch marks. Unlike real hardwood, they don't look like character marks , they make your foorls look cheaper than they already did. Prefinished hardwoods are beautiful, my dad put them in both of the houses we lived in as children, and they were amazing. by Melek posted on Sunday, December 20, 2015

I don't think the mi

I don't think the military is igonnart, far from it. The National Command Authority, I.e. the President and his advisors ahve shown a propensity for ignoring their military advisors. In spite of that interference, the military waged a brilliant campaign, AND WON IT!The military is not, nor has it ever been, a police force. They are trained to kill, and to survive. To put them in the position they are in now, between countless sectarian groups fighting each other , and our military, is asking them to do a job they are not trained for. There are rules for warfare, believe it or not, set out in the Geneva Conventions. Insurgent groups, however, don't abide by those rules. Principle among them is the concept of uniformed combatants. When everyone in the population looks the same, but belongs to different sides, it kind of makes it impossible to fight any kind of war.I recently spoke with a friend who returned from Iraq. He told me about a man he had met on many occasions and he became his friend. One day on patrol (they were protecting an oil pipeline) they came under fire from a group of insurgents. They were pinned down, and gunships were called in to attack the insurgents, many of whom were killed. When they examined the insurgent position he found the man he had known, AK in hand, dead. It's not black and white over there. Everything is the same shade of grey.References : by Rajawi posted on Sunday, December 20, 2015

Saddam Hussein is ou

Saddam Hussein is out of power. The people there can vote, watch news, enanrttiement, politics, debate, art, theatre, and not the State run "Saddam Channels" which are totally about him only. Medical care has improved considerably. So has the construction of schools. Power now reaches most everyone in the country, and they no longer experience blackouts nightly, due to Saddam Hussein. The list goes on of the freedoms these people have, that they did not have for 35 years under Saddam Hussein. So how do you figure they haven't been freed? And don't say we're there for oil. We have exported one drop! Fuel prices are higher here than ever.References : by Yekini posted on Sunday, December 20, 2015

You negate yorsuelf

You negate yorsuelf by painting our military with such a broad swatch. May I remind you of your own citation:Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. Martin Luther King Jr.You, sir, fit well in that category.I do not, for a moment, support our Idiot King's bogus war in Iraq, but blame for this fiasco should not be fixed on the military. The men and women who serve deserve more respect much more than you have given them.References : by King posted on Sunday, December 20, 2015

Yo prefiero tanto en los bolsillos laterales como en la cerillera introducir las solapas por dentro. Creo q queda la chaqueta con líneas más limpias. Pero esto va por gustos.Un saludoEA by Caden posted on Tuesday, May 02, 2017
